Trade Ins
How Do I Trade My Items In?
Please bring your items to any store location during regular business hours for a trade quote. If you have a lot of items we may ask that you leave them with us for a period of time while we go through everything.
We also offer a Ship & Sell program where you can get an online quote and ship your items in and receive payment.
Do You Pay Cash?
Yes we give cash and or store credit for your items. Cash is always a little less than store credit. For large amounts we offer a business check we do not keep large quantities of cash at each store location.
How Does Store Credit Work?
We always pay more for store credit on trades. Store credit is stored in our proprietary point-of-sale system and is accessed by customers phone number or last name
Store credit can be used towards the purchase of any items in the store
Can Store Credit Be Used At Other RGP Locations?
Yes! Your store credit is stored on our server and can be accessed and used at any RGP store location. If you are visiting another store other than the one you traded in at please let them know and they can import your customer ID
Does My Store Credit Expire?
No, your store credit never expires and is good until you use it all.
Do I Need An ID For Trades?
Yes we require an ID for all cash trade ins
Can I Get A Trade Quote Over The Phone?
No, sorry, we do not offer trade quotes over the phone. It takes a bit of time to quote items using our system, and we tend to be busy helping customers in-store. We also need to see your items physically to give an accurate quote.
I Have A Large Amount Of Items Id Like To Trade What Should I Do?
We can process very large trades at the store and it is perfectly fine if you bring in bins and bins of items. For larger trades we do ask that you drop the items off so we have some time to go through everything and test items.
We have a drop off form that we use for large trade ins and will call you or text you when the trade quote is ready
How Do You Determine Trade Prices For Items?
We have a proprietary point of sale system that gives us accurate up to date trade prices for games and systems.
For all collectibles, comics, VHS, TCG cards and other items we use a combination of price guides and sold listings to determine a trade price.
Do I Need An Appointment To Trade In My Items?
No you can bring your items in any time and we can start a trade quote for you. During the week tends to be slower and we may be able to get to trades sooner. Weekends are busier but we tend to have more staff to process trades.
Do You Buy Broken Consoles?
We test all systems that are traded in and do not buy broken consoles.
We may make an exception for rarer or harder to find consoles that are broken and purchase those defective
Do you buy large items such as arcade machines, kiosks or signage?
Yes we do! It is on a case by case basis though and depends on room we may have at our store locations. For larger items please send an email to kris@retrogamesplus.com
Returns & Warranties
What Is Your Return Policy?
All returns are for store credit only, we do not offer cash returns
We offer a 60 day return policy on all consoles and controllers.
For all defective games and items we offer a 14 day return policy.
We offer a 24 hour exchange of a game if you did not like it. One exchange is allowed per customer per transaction.
Please keep your receipt for all returns.
I purchased a console or hardware and it is not working?
We have a 60 day return policy on all defective systems and controllers. All of our consoles are tested when we purchase them however they may still have issues as all items are used.
Please bring the console or hardware (controllers etc) back with in 60 days to the store. We will attempt to fix the issue, replace the item or give you a refund to apply to a store credit account that can be used for any future purchases.
I purchased a game and it is not working?
At our store, we prioritize your satisfaction. We offer a 14-day return policy on all defective games, ensuring you have ample time to test your purchase. Please note, we do not offer cash refunds, but we provide store credit for your next purchase.
For older cartridge games, the issue can often be fixed by using a Q-tip and rubbing alcohol to clean the contacts on the cartridges. Sometimes, they are just dirty or dusty and need cleaning.
For disc-based games, we should have cleaned your game using our disc-cleaning machine. If we did not or there are scratches on the disc, we can attempt to clean the disc in our resurfacer, replace your disc with another, or offer you store credit towards another purchase
I purchased something else and it is not working or I want to return it?
We sell many different items other than games and consoles. If you purchased something else such as a VHS tape, DVD, cassette or any other media we offer a 14 day return policy.
For any hardware such as VHS players, CRT TVs, etc we offer a 60 day return policy.

What Type Of Items Do You Carry?
We carry almost every type of system dating back to the original Odyssey, Intellivision and Atari up to the latest consoles of PS5, Xbox Series X and Switch. We also carry Vintage Action Figures, Collectibles, VHS, Trading Cards (Pokemon, YuGiOh, Magic) Gundam Figures, Comics, Vintage Clothes, Accessories for all Games and more!
How can I see if you have a particular game or item in stock?
For inventory questions, the best thing to do is to give the store nearest to you a call, and they can check our inventory to see if we have it in stock.
Each store has a local inventory, and items can be searched. It is not always 100% accurate and sometimes we may need to check the shelves to see if we have an item in stock
Do You Test All Your Items?
We test all systems that are sold to us and offer a 60 day warranty on consoles and controllers.
We do not have enough time to test all of the thousands of games that are traded in, however, we offer a 14 day return policy for store credit. All disc based games are put through our disc resurfacer machine
Where Are You Located?
We have 5 locations nationwide. 3 locations in Connecticut located in Norwalk, Orange and Newington and 2 locations in California located in Huntington Beach and Lawndale.
Do You Host Any Events?
Yes, we host many trade events and several conventions each year. Please check out our social feeds to make it to our next event. You can also visit us at the next annual SoCal Gaming Expo or RetroWorld Expo
Do You Repair Systems?
No at this time we do not do any repairs on consoles. We only do battery replacements for Gameboy and GBA games
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cash and all major credit cards. We do not accept checks. Credit cards must be present for all transactions we can not manually input credit card numbers. Some of our stores are able to accept Apple Pay and other mobil transactions
I have an issue who should I contact?
We have a manager at each store location who should be able to help you with any issues you have.

Can you ship me items?
No, unfortunately, we are not able to ship items and only offer in-store pickup.
